"In the colorful reflection, we have what is life." - Goethe
Hello and welcome!
My love of photography began way back when life wasn’t as hectic and fast paced - when we actually had time to sit down with a good book and read for hours. I remember flipping through old family photo albums and magazines as a youngster, totally captivated by the images on the pages.
I began taking photographs back in the early 1990's when I realized I had an eye for composition and detail and grabbed a basic point and shoot to capture the moments of my nephews and nieces growing up. It wasn't until 2000 that my photography started to get serious and it especially took a turn in 2006 when I bought my first DSLR and my craft immensely improved. I never looked back.
I view photography as the perfect combination of art, creativity, nature, science, and technology. It allows one to slow down and see things that too many rush past these days. It has opened my eyes to beauty in things that I would have otherwise ignored. It has become, in essence, my 'zen'.
The photographer is a storyteller, carefully composing a narrative through photographs. Every person is unique. Every session is new and exciting. Each relationship has a unique feel and energy. Whether your family unit includes a mom + dad, mom, dad, mom + mom, dad + dad, grandma + mom, my goal is always the same: to capture the essence of each family and narrate their story on camera.
I specialize in on-location portraiture and lifestyle/documentary photography. I love shooting outdoors and prefer natural light whenever possible - filling in with flash when necessary. My work is inspired by the mystery and wonder of life. I enjoy photographing a broad range of subjects - landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, portraits, animals, candids and still life.
Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in creating memories!
